Jealousy (Hasad) in the Quran and Hadith
1. Definition of Jealousy (Hasad):
Jealousy (Hasad) is a destructive emotion where one feels envy and wishes for the blessings of others to be removed. In Islam, it is considered a major sin and a harmful trait.
The Quran on Jealousy
a. Surah Al-Falaq (113:5):
"And from the evil of the envier when he envies."
Explanation (Tafseer): This verse warns against the harm caused by envious people. Tafsir scholars such as Ibn Kathir explain that this refers to individuals whose envy drives them to act maliciously against others, which can harm both the envied person and the envier themselves.
b. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:109):
"Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves after the truth has become clear to them."
Explanation: This verse highlights that envy was a motivation for disbelievers to oppose Islam. Tafsir Al-Qurtubi mentions that this kind of envy stems from arrogance and rejection of truth, illustrating how envy can lead to animosity and misguidance.
c. Surah An-Nisa (4:54):
"Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?"
Explanation: This verse addresses the envy of the disbelievers towards the Prophets and believers for the blessings Allah granted them, including prophethood, knowledge, and material wealth. Tafsir scholars emphasize that Allah's blessings are distributed with wisdom, and envy reflects dissatisfaction with Allah's decree.
Hadith on Jealousy
a. Jealousy Consumes Good Deeds: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Beware of jealousy, for it consumes good deeds like fire consumes wood."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 4903)
Explanation: This Hadith highlights the destructive nature of jealousy, which not only harms relationships but also nullifies the spiritual rewards of the envier.
b. Prohibition of Envy: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Do not envy one another, do not hate one another, do not turn away from one another, but rather be servants of Allah as brothers."
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2564)
Explanation: The Prophet instructed Muslims to avoid envy and maintain unity and goodwill among themselves.
c. Exceptions to Jealousy: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given wealth, and he spends it righteously; and a man whom Allah has given wisdom (knowledge of the Quran), and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 73)
Explanation: This Hadith permits a positive form of envy (Ghibtah), where one admires others' blessings and aspires to achieve similar goodness without wishing harm to them.
The Evil Eye (Al-‘Ayn) in the Quran and Hadith
The "evil eye" refers to harm caused by a person's envious gaze, which can negatively affect others. It is a recognized phenomenon in Islamic teachings.
The Quran on the Evil Eye
a. Surah Yusuf (12:67):
"And he said, 'O my sons, do not enter from one gate but enter from different gates; and I cannot avail you against [the decree of] Allah at all...'"
Explanation: Prophet Ya’qub (Jacob) advised his sons to take precautions against the evil eye, as they were a group of handsome and strong young men who could attract envy. Tafsir scholars like Ibn Kathir mention that this advice demonstrates awareness of the evil eye's potential harm.
b. Surah Al-Qalam (68:51):
"And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, 'Indeed, he is mad.'"
Explanation: This verse refers to the harmful effect of the disbelievers' envious gaze directed at the Prophet (peace be upon him), illustrating how envy and evil intentions can manifest through the eyes.
Hadith on the Evil Eye
a. Reality of the Evil Eye:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the Divine Decree, it would be the evil eye."
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2188)
Explanation: This Hadith confirms the existence and impact of the evil eye while affirming that it occurs by Allah's will and decree.
b. Seeking Protection from the Evil Eye:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed:
"Seek refuge with Allah from the evil eye, for the evil eye is real."
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 3508)
Explanation: This Hadith emphasizes the importance of turning to Allah for protection against the harm caused by envy and the evil eye.
c. Treatment for the Evil Eye:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised the use of Ruqyah (spiritual remedies) for protection:
"There is no Ruqyah except in the case of the evil eye or fever."
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 5738)
How to Protect Against Jealousy and the Evil Eye
Recitation of the Quran:
Surah Al-Falaq (113) and Surah An-Nas (114) are recommended for protection.
Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286) offer spiritual safeguards.
Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah):
Regular recitation of “La ilaha illallah” and other supplications builds spiritual resilience.
Giving Charity:
Charity purifies wealth and protects against harm, including envy.
Avoid Boasting About Blessings:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Be discreet in fulfilling your needs, for everyone who is blessed is envied."
(Tabarani, Al-Mu'jam Al-Kabir)
Ruqyah and Dua:
Performing Ruqyah and reciting specific prayers such as “A'udhu bi kalimatillahi al-tammati min sharri ma khalaq” (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created).
Conclusion
Jealousy and the evil eye are spiritual realities in Islam, with clear guidance provided in the Quran and Sunnah to combat their harmful effects. Both should be addressed through reliance on Allah, spiritual practices, and good character.

It is believed that al-‘ayn can affect a person physically, emotionally, or spiritually. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Most of those who die among my Ummah die because of the will and decree of Allah and then because of the evil eye."
(Al-Bazzar; classified as authentic by scholars)
Protection against al-‘ayn:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed remedies and preventative measures:
Reciting protective duas: "Seek refuge in Allah from the evil eye, for it is real." (Ibn Majah 3508)
Use of Ruqyah (healing supplications): The Prophet permitted Ruqyah as a cure for the evil eye:
"There is no Ruqyah except in the case of the evil eye or fever." (Sahih Bukhari 5705)
Projects, businesses, or processes may face unexpected obstacles or failures due to the spiritual harm caused by envy.
Individuals may experience unexplained fatigue, stress, or lack of focus when affected by al-‘ayn, impacting productivity.
Relationships may deteriorate due to jealousy or unspoken ill will.
Remedies to Counter al-‘Ayn
Constant Remembrance of Allah: Reciting Masha Allah and Allahumma Barik when admiring something helps neutralize envy.
Morning and Evening Supplications: Regularly recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas for protection.
Giving Sadaqah: Helps cleanse envy and negativity.
Spiritual Ruqyah: Perform Ruqyah over individuals or businesses experiencing inexplicable failures.
The process by which al-‘ayn (the evil eye) affects a person or situation is not explicitly linked to the qareen in Islamic teachings, but there are important distinctions between the two concepts.
Al-‘Ayn is caused by the power of envy or excessive admiration from one person to another, leading to harm. This can affect someone's health, wealth, success, or other blessings.
It does not necessarily involve jinn or spiritual companions; it is primarily a metaphysical phenomenon stemming from intense human emotions or intentions.
What is the Qareen?
The qareen is a personal jinn assigned to every individual at birth. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"There is no one among you but a companion from among the jinn has been assigned to him."
The companions asked: "Even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said:
"Even me, but Allah helped me against him, and he has submitted, so he only commands me to do good."
(Sahih Muslim 2814)
The qareen whispers evil thoughts, doubts, and suggestions, aiming to lead the person astray or amplify negative emotions.
While there is no direct mention in authentic sources of the qareen being involved in transmitting al-‘ayn, there is a possible connection between:
The envy of others (causing al-‘ayn) being amplified by the whispers of the qareen.
The qareen exploiting the vulnerability of the victim by increasing fear, anxiety, or doubt after being afflicted by al-‘ayn.
In essence, the qareen’s role is more about whispering evil thoughts to both the envier (to make them jealous) and the victim (to weaken their faith or self-confidence), but it is not directly responsible for al-‘ayn.
A person casts the evil eye, often unintentionally, through strong feelings of envy or admiration.
This negative energy affects the victim's blessings, leading to physical illness, emotional distress, or setbacks in life.
Al-‘ayn can only take effect if Allah wills, as nothing happens outside His decree.
The qareen might act in parallel by exploiting the situation, but it is not the cause of al-‘ayn.
To guard against both al-‘ayn and the whispers of the qareen
Regularly recite Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286).Surah Alikhlaas ,Al Falaq and Suran Alnas after every Salah and 3 times before sleeping.
Specific duas and Quranic verses can be recited over oneself or affected individuals.
Recognize that both al-‘ayn and the qareen have no power except what Allah permits.

If you get a chance to see, now that you're blind and you had a chance to see again, what would you wish to see, what's the only thing you'd wish to see?
The kid replies: I wish I could see how the Qur’an is written
Is that the only thing they asked?
He said yes, I would like to see how the vowel marks, tajweed, the little س look like

English - Sahih International
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes[1] and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."
English - Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
<h2>More Attributes of the Servants of the Most Gracious</h2>
These are further attributes of the servants of the Most Gracious. They do not bear witness to falsehood, including lies, immorality, disbelief, foul speech and false words. `Amr bin Qays said, this refers to gatherings of sexual immorality. It was said that the Ayah,
(And those who do not bear witness to falsehood,) refers to giving false testimony, which means lying deliberately to someone else. It was recorded in the Two Sahihs that Abu Bakrah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said three times:
«أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ؟»
(Shall I not tell you of the greatest of major sins) We said, "Of course, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
«الشِّرْكُ بِاللهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْن»
(Associating others in worship with Allah and disobeying one's parents.) He was lying down, then he sat up and added:
«أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ، أَلَا وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّور»
(Beware false speech, and bearing witness to falsehood.) and he kept repeating it until we thought, would that he would stop." From the context it seems that what is meant by those who do not bear witness to falsehood is those who do not attend it or are not present when it happens. Allah says:
(and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.) They do not attend where falsehood occurs, and if it so happens that they pass by it, they do not let it contaminate them in the slightest. Allah says:
(they pass by it with dignity.)
(And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.) This is also a characteristic of the believers,
(Those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Ayat are recited unto them, they increase their faith; and they put their trust in their Lord.) (8:2) Unlike the disbelievers. When they hear the Words of Allah, they are not affected by them or moved to change their ways. They persist in their disbelief, wrongdoing, ignorance and misguidance, as Allah says:
(And whenever there comes down a Surah, some of them say: "W

The concept of seven categories of people who will be granted shade on the Day of Judgment comes from an authentic Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) rather than the Qur'an directly. However, the idea of divine shade and protection is supported in the Qur'an through various verses that highlight Allah’s mercy and rewards for the righteous.
The Hadith Reference:
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: (1) a just ruler; (2) a young man who grew up in the worship of Allah; (3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; (4) two people who love each other for the sake of Allah, meeting and parting upon that; (5) a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position but he says, 'I fear Allah'; (6) a man who gives in charity and hides it such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives; and (7) a man who remembers Allah in private and his eyes fill with tears."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 660, Sahih Muslim 1031)
Qur’anic Support for These Virtues
Though the specific mention of "seven groups" is not found in the Qur'an, the virtues described in the hadith are emphasized in multiple places in the Qur'an. Here are some relevant verses:
1. A Just Ruler
"Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice."
(Surah An-Nisa 4:58)
2. A Young Man Devoted to Worship
"Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance."
(Surah Al-Kahf 18:13)
3. A Man Whose Heart is Attached to the Mosque
"The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day..."
(Surah At-Tawbah 9:18)
4. Two Who Love Each Other for the Sake of Allah
"Close friends on that Day will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous."
(Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:67)
5. A Man Who Resists Temptation for Allah’s Sake
"And as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from inclination (toward evil), then indeed, Paradise will be his refuge."
(Surah An-Nazi’at 79:40-41)
6. A Person Who Gives Charity in Secret
"If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you..."
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:271)
7. A Person Who Remembers Allah in Private and Weeps
"And they fall upon their faces weeping, and it increases them in humility."
(Surah Al-Isra 17:109)
Conclusion
While the specific mention of "seven groups" comes from Hadith, the Qur'an strongly supports these virtues. These individuals earn Allah’s special mercy and protection on the Day of Judgment, a day when no shade will be available except for those granted by Him.

(And they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise.) "Using fig leaves." This statement has an authentic chain of narration leading to Ibn `Abbas. Mujahid said that they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise, "Making them as a dress (or garment)." Commenting on Allah's statement,
(Stripping them of their raiment) 7:27 Wahb bin Munabbih said, "The private parts of Adam and Hawwa' had a light covering them which prevented them from seeing the private parts of each other. When they ate from the tree, their private parts appeared to them." Ibn Jarir reported this statement with an authentic chain of narration. Abdur-Razzaq reported from Qatadah, "Adam said, `O Lord! What if I repented and sought forgiveness' Allah said, `Then, I will admit you into Paradise.' As for Shaytan, he did not ask for forgiveness, but for respite. Each one of them was given what he asked for." Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim commented,
("Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.") "These are the words that Adam received from his Lord."
English - Tafsir Jalalayn
They said, `Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, by our act of disobedience, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the lost'.

HW. Describe the major sins and what makes them major
Thu, Feb 06 2025
04:23
~ Rasheed
In Islam, major sins (الكبائر, al-Kabā'ir) are grave offenses that have severe consequences in this life and the Hereafter unless repented for. They are distinguished from minor sins by the presence of a clear warning of punishment in the Qur'an or Hadith, such as:
A specific curse from Allah or His Messenger
A severe prescribed punishment in this world (ḥadd)
A warning of Hellfire
Major Sins in Islam
While scholars differ on the exact number, some of the most commonly recognized major sins include:
1. Shirk (Associating Partners with Allah)
The greatest sin in Islam, as it denies Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah)
Allah says:
"Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." (Qur’an 4:48)
2. Murder (Unjust Killing)
Islam strictly prohibits taking innocent life.
"Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land—it is as if he had slain mankind entirely." (Qur’an 5:32)
3. Magic (Sihr)
Engaging in magic is considered a form of disbelief (kufr).
The Prophet (ﷺ) listed magic among the seven deadly sins (Bukhari & Muslim).
4. Not Performing Salah (Obligatory Prayer)
Deliberately abandoning the five daily prayers is a major sin.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Between a man and disbelief is abandoning the prayer.” (Muslim)
5. Disobedience to Parents
Disrespecting or harming one’s parents is among the greatest sins.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the major sins? Associating partners with Allah and disobedience to parents.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
6. Riba (Usury/Interest)
Interest-based transactions exploit people and are strictly prohibited.
"Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest." (Qur’an 2:275)
7. Consuming Haram Wealth (Theft, Bribery, Fraud)
This includes stealing, corruption, or earning through haram means.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Every flesh nourished by haram will enter the Hellfire." (Tirmidhi)
8. False Accusation of Adultery (Qadhf)
Wrongfully accusing someone of zina (adultery) without four witnesses is a grave sin.
"And those who launch a charge against chaste women and do not produce four witnesses—lash them with eighty stripes." (Qur’an 24:4)
9. Zina (Adultery & Fornication)
Any extramarital sexual relationship is a severe sin.
"And do not go near unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is an immorality and an evil way." (Qur’an 17:32)
10. Drinking Alcohol & Drug Use
Intoxicants cloud the mind and lead to immoral behavior.
"Indeed, intoxicants and gambling... are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful." (Qur’an 5:90)
11. Gambling
Leads to addiction, loss of wealth, and neglect of duties.
Prohibited in the same verse as alcohol (Qur’an 5:90).
12. Lying & Bearing False Witness
Falsehood, especially in testimony, is among the worst sins.
The Prophet (ﷺ) warned repeatedly about false testimony (Bukhari & Muslim).
13. Breaking Trusts & Oaths
Betraying agreements or swearing false oaths is a serious offense.
"Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due." (Qur’an 4:58)
14. Backbiting & Slander
Speaking ill of others behind their back is compared to eating a dead brother’s flesh (Qur’an 49:12).
15. Suicide & Self-Harm
Life is a trust from Allah, and taking one’s life is forbidden.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever kills himself with something will be punished with it in Hellfire." (Bukhari & Muslim)
---
What Makes a Sin "Major"?
A sin is considered major if:
1. Allah or His Messenger explicitly warned against it with severe punishment.
2. It incurs a legal punishment (ḥadd), like stoning for adultery or amputation for theft.
3. It leads to disbelief (kufr) or hypocrisy (nifaq), like denying fundamental beliefs.
4. It causes severe harm to individuals or society, such as murder or corruption.
Repenting from Major Sins
Sincere Tawbah (repentance) wipes away major sins if done before death.
Conditions of repentance:
1. Stop the sin immediately
2. Feel genuine remorse
3. Make a firm intention not to return
4. Seek forgiveness from those wronged (if applicable)

The Hadiths on the Virtue of These Two Ayat, May Allah Benefit Us by Them Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Mas`ud said that the Messenger of Allah said ﷺ,
«مَنْ قَرَأَ بِالْآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ، كَفَتَاه»
(Whoever recites the last two Ayat in Surat Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice for him.)
The rest of the six also recorded similar wording for this Hadith. The Two Sahihs recorded this Hadith using various chains of narration, and Imam Ahmad also recorded it.
Muslim recorded that `Abdullah said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on the Isra journey, he ascended to the Sidrat Al-Muntaha in the sixth heaven, where whatever ascends from the earth ends at, and whatever descends from above it ends at.
(When that covered the lote tree which did cover it!) 53:16 meaning, a mat made of gold.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was then given three things: the five prayers, the last Ayat in Surat Al-Baqarah and forgiveness for whoever did not associate anything or anyone with Allah from his Ummah."
Earlier we mentioned the Hadith regarding the virtues of Surat Al-Fatihah from Ibn `Abbas which stated, "While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with Jibil, he heard a noise from above. Jibil lifted his sight to the sky and said, `This is a door that was opened just now in heaven, and it was never opened before.' An angel came down through the door to the Prophet and said, `Receive the good news of two lights that you have been given and which no Prophet before you was given: the Opener of the Book (Al-Fatihah) and the last Ayat in Surat Al-Baqarah. You will not read a letter of them, but you will be granted its benefit."' This Hadith was collected by Muslim and An-Nasa'i, and this is the wording collected by An-Nasa'i.

As we try to do business ethically , we likely face skepticism—whether from investors, competitors, or even within our own circles.
Let's strengthen our conviction in the long-term the why of our projects.
Surround ourselves with people who remind us of purpose rather than just profits.
Keep an internal metric: "Is this project the one we can stand before Allah with?"
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.
O Allah, bless my hearing, sight, and heart, and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings and use them in Your path.
O Allah, make my businesses and ventures a means of spreading goodness, justice, and mercy. Guide me to what pleases You in this world and the next.
O Allah, grant me steadfastness in times of trials, patience in challenges, and certainty when ignorant people mock.
O Allah, make my impact in this world a lasting charity and open for me the doors of wisdom and success in every step.
Affirmations
I am building not just businesses, but legacies of goodness. Every action I take becomes an investment with Allah's mercy in my hereafter. My work is a means of gratitude and being thankful at all times, not just money.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) emphasized the importance of reciting Surah Al-Mulk:
It protects from the punishment of the grave
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Surah Al-Mulk is the protector from the torment of the grave." (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood)
It intercedes for its reciter until they are forgiven
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"There is a Surah in the Qur’an consisting of 30 verses that will intercede for a person until he is forgiven—Surah Al-Mulk." (Ahmad, Abu Dawood)

As we prepare for Ramadan, a time of reflection and renewal, let’s take a moment to look around our homes. Many of us have items—clothes, kitchenware, books, or electronics—that sit unused, gathering dust or not in use for months. Yet, there are people in our communities who could truly benefit from them.
We are here talking about sustainability and avoiding israaf (wastefulness), as we say charity begins at home. Islam teaches us to be mindful of our blessings and to share with those in need. What better way to start Ramadan than by taking action?
This is more than just decluttering—it’s about making a difference. By donating what we no longer use, we reduce waste, support those less fortunate, and embody the spirit of sadaqah (charity).
Let’s start today. Walk through our homes, gather the things we no longer need, and give them away to someone who does. A small act of kindness can bring ease to another person’s life—and purify our own hearts as we enter this sacred month.

Then, when Zachariah had seen this and realised that the One with power to bring something about in other than its [natural] time, is able to bring about a child in old age, and with those of his family line all deceased, Zachariah prayed to his Lord, when he entered the sanctuary to pray in the middle of the night, saying, `Lord, bestow upon me from You a goodly offspring, a righteous son, verily, You are the Hearer of, [You are] the One Who answers, supplication'.

Ash-Shaheed / Ash-Shahid
(The All Observing Witnessing)
Ash-Shaheed Meaning:
The Witness, The All-Observant, The Testifier.
Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is Ash-Shaheed (in Arabic: ٱلْشَّهِيدُ) meaning the one who is omnipresent and all-observing. There is nothing that we do that goes unnoticed, as He is ever-present and sees everything. His knowledge comprehends all, and He will be the ultimate witness on the day of judgment. <attached: 00000399-PHOTO-2025-02-11-03-45-35.jpg>

English - Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
«بُعِثْتُ بِالْحَنِيفِيَّةِ السَّمْحَة»
(I was sent with the easy Hanifiyah monotheism way.) An authenic Hadith mentions,
«إِنَّ هَذَا الدِّينَ يُسْر»
(Verily, this religion is easy) and its Law is all easy, lenient and perfect. It is easy for those whom Allah the Exalted makes it easy.)
(He is eager for you), that you gain guidance and acquire benefits in this life and the Hereafter. Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah bin Mas`ud said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
«إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ، أَلَا وَإِنِّي آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ أَنْ تَهَافَتُوا فِي النَّارِ كَتَهَافُتِ الْفَرَاشِ أَوِ الذُّبَاب»
(Verily, every matter that Allah has prohibited, He knows that some among you will breach it; but I am indeed holding you by the waist so that you do not fall in the Fire, just like butterflies and flies.) Allah's statement next,
(for the believers (he is) full of pity, kind, and merciful.) 9:128, is similar to His other statement,
(And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful) 26:215-217. Allah the Exalted commanded His Messenger in this honorable Ayah,
(But if they turn away), from the glorious, pure, perfect and encompassing Law that you -- O Muhammad -- brought them,
(then say: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no God but He,) Allah is sufficient for me, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, and in Him I put my trust. Similarly, Allah said,
((He alone is) the Lord of the east and the west; there is no God but He. So take Him alone as a guardian.) 73:9. Allah said next,
(Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger from among yourselves ...) 9:128" until the end of the Surah It is recorded in the Sahih that Zayd bin Thabit said, "I found the last Ayah in Surah Bara'ah with Khuzaymah bin Thabit." This is the end of Surah Bara'ah, all praise is due to Allah.

Sayyidna Ibn ` Abbas ؓ has said that 'exalted quality of character' signifies a 'great religion, and it is Islam, a religion dearest to Allah'. Sayyidah ` A'ishah ؓ was asked about the Holy Prophet's ﷺ character. She replied: "The Holy Prophet's ﷺ character was the Qur'an itself'. In other words, he is the living example of the Qur'an that teaches high morals. Sayyidna ` Ali ؓ said that 'exalted quality of character' signifies the 'good manners which the Qur'an has taught'. All these interpretations have almost the same significance. That is to say, not only that the Holy Prophet ﷺ is not an insane person, but he is the sublime and noblest of men possessing in full measure all the moral excellence that combine to make their possessor a perfect image of his Creator. The Holy Prophet's ﷺ humanity was of the most perfect character. He was a complete embodiment of all good moral qualities that a man is capable of possessing. The Holy Prophet ﷺ himself said:
بعثت لاتمم مکارم الاخلاق
"I have only been sent to perfect noble character/conduct." [ Abu Hayyan ].
Sayyidna Anas ؓ said:
"I served Allah's Messenger ﷺ for ten years, and he never said a word of displeasure to me, nor did he ever say to me concerning something I had done: 'Why did you do that?' And he never said to me concerning what I had not done: 'Why did you not do this?'" [ Bukhari and Muslim ].
Obviously, a ten-year period is a long time during which some unpleasant or objectionable thing might have happened.
Sayyidna Anas ؓ said:
"As a result of the Holy Prophet's noble character, any slave-girl of Madinah would hold his hand and take him wherever she would like to."
Sayyidah ` A'ishah ؓ said: "Allah's Messenger ﷺ never struck anyone with his hands except when he was fighting in jihad in the cause of Allah." It is confirmed that when he fought jihad in the cause of Allah, he killed unbelievers. Otherwise he did not hit any servant, nor any woman. He would never take revenge for any harm or mistake done. He would only implement Shar’ i punishment on those who violated Allah's laws. [ Transmitted by Muslim ].
Sayyidna Jabir ؓ says that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never asked for anything for which he said 'No'. [ Bukhari and Muslim ].
Sayyidah ` A'ishah ؓ said:
"Allah's Messenger ﷺ was never vulgar, never pretended to be vulgar and he never shouted in the marketplaces. He never responded to evil by evil, but always pardoned and overlooked."
Sayyidna Abu-d-Darda' ؓ narrates that Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:
"Noble character will be the heaviest thing on a Muslim's scale of good deeds on the Day of Resurrection. Allah detests the rude and foul-mouthed person." [ Transmitted by Tirmidhi, grading it as a Tradition which is 'hasan'].
Sayyidah ` A'ishah ؓ narrates that Allah's Messenger ﷺ "said:
"Indeed by virtue of good character, a believer can attain the status of votaries who spend their nights in worship and their days in fasting." [ Abu Dawud ].
Sayyidna Mu'dh Ibn Jabal ؓ narrates that when he placed his foot into the stirrup of his mount, as he was departing for Yemen as the governor of that province, Allah's Messenger ﷺ advised him:
یا مَعَاذ اَحسِن خُلُقَکَ لِلنَّاس
"0 Mu` adh, display your best character with people." [ Transmitted by Malik ].

<h2>The Qur'an was revealed so that the People would have Taqwa and reflect</h2>
After Allah, the Exalted, mentions that on the Day of Judgement both the good and the evil will be recompensed and there is no avoiding it, He then explains that the Qur'an was revealed as a bringer of glad tidings and a warner in the clear and eloquent Arabic language. There is no confusion or deficiency in it.
(And thus We have sent it down as a Qur'an in Arabic, and have explained therein in detail the warnings, in order that they may have Taqwa of,) This means: so that they will leave off sins, forbidden things and lewd abominations.
(or that it may cause them to have a lesson from it.) This means: to produce acts of obedience and deeds that will bring one closer to Allah.
(Then High above all be Allah, the True King.) This means: Most Holy and Majestic is He, the True King, Who is Himself the Truth and His promise is true. Likewise, His threat is true, His Messengers are true, the Paradise is true, the Hellfire is true and everything from Him is true. His justice is that He does not punish anyone before warning them, sending Messengers to them and granting excuses to His creatures, so that no one will have any argument or doubt (on Judgment Day).
<h2>The Command to the Prophet to listen to the Qur'an when it is revealed without making haste</h2>
Concerning Allah's statement,
(And be not in haste with the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you,) This is similar to Allah's statement,
(Move not your tongue to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it and to give you the ability to recite it. And when We have recited it to you, then follow its recital. Then it is for Us to made it clear (to you).) 75:16-19 It is confirmed in the Sahih on the authority of Ibn `Abbas, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go through great pains to retain the revelation. In doing so he used to move his tongue rapidly with its recital. Then, Allah revealed this Ayah. This means that whenever Jibril would say an Ayah, the Prophet would say it with him due to his eagerness to memorize it. Then, Allah guided him to that which was easier and lighter in this matter, to relieve him of this difficulty. Allah said,

The Meaning of Guidance mentioned in the Surah
The guidance mentioned in the Surah implies being directed and guided to success. Allah said,
(Guide us to the straight path) meaning guide, direct, lead and grant us the correct guidance. Also,

(And shown him the two ways (good and evil)) (90:10), means, `We explained to him the paths of good and evil.' Also, Allah said,

(He (Allah) chose him (as an intimate friend) and guided him to a straight path) (16:121), and,
(And lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell)) (37:23). Similarly, Allah said,
(And verily, you (O Muhammad ) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the straight path) (42:52), and,
(All praise and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us to this) (7:43), meaning, guided us and directed us and qualified us for this end - Paradise.
<h2>The Meaning of As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim, the Straight Path.</h2>
As for the meaning of As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim, Imam Abu Ja`far At-Tabari said, "The Ummah agreed that Sirat Al-Mustaqim, is the clear path without branches, according to the language of the Arabs. For instance, Jarir bin `Atiyah Al-Khatafi said in a poem, `The Leader of the faithful is on a path that will remain straight even though the other paths are crooked." At-Tabari also stated that, "There are many evidences to this fact." At-Tabari then proceeded, "The Arabs use the term, Sirat in reference to every deed and statement whether righteous or wicked. Hence the Arabs would describe the honest person as being straight and the wicked person as being crooked. The straight path mentioned in the Qur'an refers to Islam.
Imam Ahmad recorded in his Musnad that An-Nawwas bin Sam`an said that the Prophet ﷺ said,
(Allah has set an example: a Sirat (straight path) that is surrounded by two walls on both sides, with several open doors within the walls covered with curtains.

English - Sahih International
(23) And your Lord has decreed that you worship not except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff,"[1] and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.
(24) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
(25) Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] - then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving.[1]
English - Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
(23) 2053
(24) <h2>The Command to Worship Allah Alone and to be Dutiful to One's Parents</h2>
Allah commands us to worship Him alone, with no partner or associate. The word Qada normally having the meaning of decree here means "commanded". Mujahid said that
(And He has Qada) means enjoined. This is also how Ubayy bin Ka`b, Ibn Mas`ud and Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim recited the Ayah as:
﴾«وَوَصَّى رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاه»﴿
"And your Lord has Wassa enjoined that you worship none but Him." The idea of worshipping Allah is connected to the idea of honoring one's parents. Allah says:
(And that you be dutiful to your parents.) Here He commands good treatment of parents, as He says elsewhere:
﴾أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ الْمَصِيرُ﴿
(give thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination) 31:14
(If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect,) means, do not let them hear anything offensive from you, not even say "Uff!" which is the mildest word of disrespect,
(and do not reprimand them) means, do not do anything horrible to them.
(and do not reprimand them) `Ata' bin Rabah said that it meant, "Do not raise your hand against them." When Allah forbids speaking and behaving in an obnoxious manner, He commands speaking and behaving in a good manner, so He says:
﴾وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلاً كَرِيمًا﴿
(but address them in terms of honor.) meaning gently, kindly, politely, and with respect and appreciation.
(And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy,) means, be humble towards them in your actions.
(and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.") means, say this when they grow old and when they die. Ibn `Abbas said: "But then Allah revealed:

Here’s how Islamic teachings counteract modern attacks on the role of women at home:
1. Reaffirm the Value of Home and Family
Islam elevates the role of a wife and mother, recognizing her as the heart of the household.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "The best among you is the one who is best to his family, and I am the best among you to my family." (Tirmidhi 3895)
A woman’s role in raising righteous children and maintaining a peaceful home is a form of worship and sadaqah (charity).
2. Emphasize True Freedom
True freedom is not in imitating men but in fulfilling one's purpose as designed by Allah.
The modern world often enslaves women to corporate work, but Islam gives them the choice to focus on family while still allowing work if needed.
Women are not required to earn; their financial needs are a responsibility of their husbands or male guardians.
3. Replace Comparison with Contentment
Social media fuels discontent, but Islam teaches qana'ah (contentment). The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Richness is not having many possessions, but richness is being content with oneself." (Bukhari 6446, Muslim 1051)
Surround yourself with righteous women who remind you of the honor of your role.
4. Redefine Success
True success is earning Allah’s pleasure, not chasing worldly status.
The best example is Khadijah (RA), who was a successful businesswoman but prioritized her role as a supportive wife to the Prophet (ﷺ).
Raising pious children is one of the three things that continue to benefit a person after death (Muslim 1631).
5. Strengthen the Family Structure
Islam encourages cooperation between spouses, with the husband as the qawwam (protector and maintainer) and the wife as the nurturer.
The Prophet (ﷺ) supported his wives in household chores, showing that a loving home is built on mutual respect.
Allah says: "And they (wives) have rights similar to those (of husbands) over them in kindness." (Quran 2:228)
6. Honor the Power of Sacrifice
A mother’s sacrifice is so great that Paradise lies under her feet (Ibn Majah 2771).
Women who prioritize their homes are rewarded immensely, as their work is an act of worship.
7. Embrace Islamic Identity
Islam honors femininity and protects women from exploitation.
A righteous woman is described in the Quran as: “obedient to Allah and guarding in the husband’s absence what Allah wants them to guard” (Quran 4:34).
Modesty, nurturing, and devotion to family are strengths, not weaknesses.
By following Islamic teachings, women can find true fulfillment in their role at home while knowing their status is highly honored by Allah.

(98) <h2>The Command to call on Allah when Calamity strikes, to repel Evil with that which is better, and to seek refuge with Allah</h2>
Allah commands His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to call on Him with this supplication when calamity strikes:
رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
(My Lord! If You would show me that with which they are threatened.) meaning, `if You punish them while I am witnessing that, then do not cause me to be one of them.' As was said in the Hadith recorded by Imam Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi, who graded it Sahih:
«وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ بِقَومٍ فِتْنَةً فَتَوفَّنِي إِلَيْكَ غَيْرَ مَفْتُون»
(If You want to test people, then take me to You cause me to die without having to undergo the test.)
(And indeed We are able to show you that with which We have threatened them.) means, `if We willed, We could show you the punishment and test that We will send upon them.' Then Allah shows him the best way to behave when mixing with people, which is to treat kindly the one who treats him badly, so as to soften his heart and turn his enmity to friendship, and to turn his hatred to love. Allah says:
(Repel evil with that which is better. ) This is like the Ayah:
ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِى بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِىٌّ حَمِيمٌوَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ
(Repel (the evil) with one which is better, then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient) 41:34-35. meaning, nobody will be helped or inspired to follow this advice or attain this quality,
(except those who are patient) meaning, those who patiently bear people's insults and bad treatment and deal with them in a good manner when they are on the receiving end of bad treatment from them.
(and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion) means, in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah says:
(And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings of the Shayatin.") Allah commanded him to seek refuge with Him from the Shayatin, because no trick could help you against them and you cannot protect yourself by being kind to them. We have already stated, when discussing Isti`adhah (seeking refuge), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say,
«أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ السَّمِيعِ الْعَلِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ مِنْ هَمْزِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِه»
(I seek refuge with Allah, the All-Hearing, All-Seeing, from the accursed Shayatin, from his whisperings, evil suggestions and insinuations.) His saying:
("And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they should come near me.") means, in any issue of my life. So we are commanded to mention Allah at the beginning of any undertaking, in order to ward off the Shayatin at the time of eating, intercourse, slaughtering an

In Islamic theology, jinn are beings created by Allah from smokeless fire, possessing free will similar to humans. They are mentioned in both the Quran and authentic Hadith, with various types and characteristics described. Below is an overview of different jinn names, their descriptions, and their potential effects on humans, based on these primary Islamic sources.
1. Iblis
Description: Originally a devout worshipper, Iblis refused to bow to Adam and was expelled from Allah's mercy, becoming the chief of devils.
Quranic Reference: "And [mention] when We said to the angels, 'Prostrate before Adam'; so they prostrated, except for Iblis. He was of the jinn and departed from his Lord's command..." (Surah Al-Kahf, 18:50)
Effect on Humans: Iblis seeks to mislead humans from the path of righteousness, whispering evil suggestions to divert them from obedience to Allah.
2. Marid
Description: Often depicted as powerful and rebellious jinn, the Marid are known for their strength and arrogance.
Quranic Reference: While not explicitly named, references to strong and rebellious jinn are interpreted by some scholars as Marid.
Effect on Humans: They can be a source of temptation and chaos, leading individuals away from moral conduct.
3. Ifrit
Description: A formidable class of jinn, the Ifrit are known for their cunning and strength.
Quranic Reference: "An Ifrit from the jinn said, 'I will bring it to you before you rise from your place...'" (Surah An-Naml, 27:39)
Effect on Humans: They have the potential to cause harm or assist, depending on their disposition, and are often associated with causing disturbances.
4. Hinn
Description: A weaker class of jinn, often associated with desolate places.
Islamic Tradition: Mentioned in various Islamic texts as beings that inhabit remote areas.

It's essential to approach the topic of jinn with the understanding that, while they have the potential to influence humans, seeking protection through regular prayers, recitation of the Quran, and adherence to Islamic teachings offers defense against any malevolent intentions.

When one sees disobedience, he stops them and forbids them from doing it." Similar was said by Ad-Dahhak and Muqatil; "It is an obligation for the Muslim to teach his near family members, and his male and female slaves what Allah has made obligatory for them and what Allah has forbidden for them." Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds profound significance in Islam as a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. The Hadith literature—records of the sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)—offers extensive insights into the virtues, practices, and spiritual benefits associated with Ramadan. Below are several authentic Hadiths highlighting the essence of this blessed month:
1. Ramadan: A Month of Mercy and Forgiveness
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the unparalleled opportunities for mercy and forgiveness during Ramadan:
> "When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained."
This Hadith underscores the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan, wherein believers are encouraged to seek Allah's mercy and strive for righteousness.
2. Fasting as a Means of Expiation
Fasting during Ramadan serves as a purification for past sins:
> "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
This narration highlights the importance of sincere intention and the spiritual reward of fasting.
3. The Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr)
Ramadan encompasses a night of immense significance:
> "Whoever stands (in prayer) during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and seeking reward, will have all his previous sins forgiven."
Laylat al-Qadr, occurring in the last ten nights of Ramadan, is a time when supplications are especially potent, and believers are urged to engage in increased worship.
4. The Importance of Pre-Dawn Meal (Suhoor)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged partaking in the pre-dawn meal:
> "Take Suhoor, for indeed there is a blessing in it."
Suhoor provides physical nourishment and spiritual benefits, distinguishing the Islamic fast from other forms.
5. Charity and Generosity During Ramadan
Generosity is especially emphasized in this month:
> "The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of people, and he was most generous during Ramadan."
Believers are encouraged to increase acts of charity, reflecting the Prophet's example.
6. The Consequence of Neglecting Ramadan
Neglecting the blessings of Ramadan is a grave loss:
> "May his nose be rubbed in dust, (a phrase denoting disgrace) who passes through the whole of Ramadan before his sins are forgiven."
This Hadith serves as a stern reminder to seize the opportunities for repentance and spiritual growth during Ramadan.
7. Fasting as a Shield
Fasting serves as a protection against immoral behavior:
> "Fasting is a shield. So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relations with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently."
This emphasizes the role of fasting in fostering self-discipline and moral conduct.
8. The Special Status of Suhoor
The pre-dawn meal holds unique blessings:
> "The difference between our fasting and that of the People of the Book is the (meal of) Suhoor."
Engaging in Suhoor not only provides physical strength but also aligns with the prophetic tradition.
9. The Multiplication of Rewards
Acts of worship during Ramadan carry amplified rewards:
> "Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of voluntary (good) deeds, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times."
This Hadith encourages believers to maximize their good deeds during Ramadan.
10. The Gate of Ar-Rayyan
A special gate in Paradise is designated for those who fast:
> "Indeed, there is a gate of Paradise called Ar-Rayyan. On the Day of Resurrection, those who fast will enter through it; no one enters it except for them."
This signifies the honor and distinction granted to those who observe fasting sincerely.
These Hadiths collectively underscore the spiritual depth and multifaceted benefits of Ramadan, guiding Muslims toward a path of enhanced devotion, self-discipline, and communal harmony during this sacred month.

Al-Qayyum / Al-Qayyoom
(The Sustainer)
Al-Qayyum Meaning:
The Self-Subsisting, The Self-Existing.
Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is Al-Qayyum (in Arabic: ٱلْقَيُّومُ), His essence/nature is to exist being utterly free from dependence on anything or anyone.
Transliteration:
"Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni."
Meaning:
"O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me."

Al-Majid
(The Illustrious)
Al-Majid Meaning:
The Noble, The Sovereign, The Glorious.
Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is Al-Maajid (in Arabic: ٱلْمَاجِدُ), the most noble, magnificent, and generous. Majid is very close to the meaning of Jalal (majesty and greatness) and Kareem (full of bounty and honor). He is the one who consistently gives, for His wealth is endless. Truly Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is the most glorious and highly esteemed. <attached: 00000492-PHOTO-2025-02-26-03-57-33.jpg>
